A few highlights

Today I spent the morning at my booth at the Vintage Flea. I have a few new favorites I wanted to highlight that I dropped off today. This amazing soup tureen was one of my finds this week (Ladle and all).

This is a cherub wall hanging perched in a vintage crock. Lately I have been seeing numbers used in decorating all over. This bean crock has a number 3 imprinted in it.

Meakin and Johnson Brothers cups.

Sitting on top of a pair of hull ramekins.

A recent find also was a set of 4 Au Gratin dishes.

A few shots of my booth after some fluffing.

The best things in life are for free

As a child I often heard the saying the best things in life are for free.

What are your best things in life for free? Happy Friday all !

Transformation Tuesday

OK,During one of my many outings at the thrift stores I found these beauties. Well to someone else they might not have looked like much but to me they were 2 diamonds in the rough. This mirror I have held onto and held onto until first I had the time to paint and second had a spot for it. The little shelf unit was one of my more recent finds.

It took some primer and a coat of white semi-gloss paint and there it was. I found a perfect piece for my boys newly painted bathroom. The little tins I found at TJ-Maxx for just 3.99. Obviously someone else found #'s 1,2&3 but I won't complain I had to have them.

This is the new white shower curtain I picked up from Target'.

This is the boys bathroom pretty much completed except I haven't had a chance to paint the letter "M" white yet.

There's that gold mirror that was just waiting for a new coat of white paint. Transforming an old piece is much more exciting to me than just picking a new one up off the shelf.

What do you think?

~I think the sunshine has gotten to me~

I think the sunshine has gotten to me. As you may have noticed I usually favor pale greens and robin egg blues, but I am loving all the yellows I am seeing this spring.
This is one of my most recent bulletin boards isn't he cute.
He's at the Flea now.
Every new season is in need of a new favorite purse. Well I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it. The sales woman said it was mustard I definitely disagree. It is canary yellow in my eyes.

And yes you seen him before but I could not leave him out of my new favorite yellow things.

Awaiting Easter....

This year we are having some amazing families over after church Easter Sunday for a fun afternoon. The forecast is looking great. So here is some of the early prep work.

Basket of carrots (our lunch utensils inside) that will sit on the buffet.
Aww!

These little cuties are corsages for the female guest at our Easter lunch after church on Sunday. My girlfriend at http://www.thepineappleroom.blogspot.com/
made these for St. Patrick's Day and Easter they are to cute I had to give them a try.

There are a varieties of colors.

I found these letters so I strung them together but they were a little plain so I added some of the same flowers to them and what a difference.

Close Up!

These little guys are in my dining room they are sitting on one of my new favorite scarf I found this spring at Old Navy.
I hope everyone has an amazing Easter!

>The light bulb went on

It was probably one of the quickest most gratifying decision I made when it comes to decorating that is. Friday afternoon it struck me. Yep! The light bulb went on. The dining room was going to be transformed. When we moved into our house almost 5 years ago I wanted a chocolate brown dining room and when I found the paint color named Sweet Georgia Brown I knew that was it, but it was time for a change. Let me know what you think!? This is the new color Wind Drift by valspar. I think my roots of the coastal life are coming out because this color just brightens up the space as if the light bulb has come on.

These ironstone platters all have such an individual character.

I enjoy each of there uniqueness.

This corner unit was brought home by my husband when we first started dating many years ago out of an model home that was being sold. It has moved with us multiple times and holds some of my favorite white collections.

This fairy garden is new to my dining room. She brings such a peacefulness to this room don't you think?

This is also new addition to my dining room since my last chandelier was transplanted over my craft table. To keep a casual feel I made a cover for the chain ( I call it a scrunchy?) out of some burlap I had leftover.

Yes! There's the light bulb going on for real. My so patient husband hanging in there during another one of my red0's.

This is a print from an old Ethan Allen brochure that came in the mail a few years ago. It fits perfectly in here in its chippy old white frame.

This is a picture of the before paint color (Sweet Georgia Brown)at Christmas last year. It was a full weekend of painting around our house we also painted the kids TV room. I will keep you posted....
