>The light bulb went on

It was probably one of the quickest most gratifying decision I made when it comes to decorating that is. Friday afternoon it struck me. Yep! The light bulb went on. The dining room was going to be transformed. When we moved into our house almost 5 years ago I wanted a chocolate brown dining room and when I found the paint color named Sweet Georgia Brown I knew that was it, but it was time for a change. Let me know what you think!? This is the new color Wind Drift by valspar. I think my roots of the coastal life are coming out because this color just brightens up the space as if the light bulb has come on.

These ironstone platters all have such an individual character.

I enjoy each of there uniqueness.

This corner unit was brought home by my husband when we first started dating many years ago out of an model home that was being sold. It has moved with us multiple times and holds some of my favorite white collections.

This fairy garden is new to my dining room. She brings such a peacefulness to this room don't you think?

This is also new addition to my dining room since my last chandelier was transplanted over my craft table. To keep a casual feel I made a cover for the chain ( I call it a scrunchy?) out of some burlap I had leftover.

Yes! There's the light bulb going on for real. My so patient husband hanging in there during another one of my red0's.

This is a print from an old Ethan Allen brochure that came in the mail a few years ago. It fits perfectly in here in its chippy old white frame.

This is a picture of the before paint color (Sweet Georgia Brown)at Christmas last year. It was a full weekend of painting around our house we also painted the kids TV room. I will keep you posted....

A little creative afternoon

Ok we may have not had the best weather lately but.....

the sun was shining the boys actually got to play outside this afternoon.. Thank you Mr. Weatherman for cooperating today. Look at this terrarium I found. I thought I would fill it with some of my favorite things.

  1. rolled up sheet music

  2. a bird

  3. nest full of eggs

  4. vintage funnel

This guy is now perched on my foyer table right at my front door. Walk into my house and you will get the sense of all the things that inspire me.

I found some old sheet music that I rolled up in my 2 urns that now flank the terarrium at the front table. Getting ready for spring.

After....

Getting ready for spring even though
the weatherman does not agree with me.
After a little rearranging and fluffing.

Going to the Flea...

Today is Friday and I am going to drop a few new goodies off to my booth at the Flea. I need to do a little rearranging. These shabby iron candle sticks , milk glass juicer and ramekins are going to add to my white obsession.

This is one of the bulleting boards I painted with a handsome bird perching a branch, would make a great addition to any craft room .

This one is a Black Fluer de lis .

Bella Treasures began

I have to mention my parents had come to stay with us for 5 weeks that summer. Without my mothers constant positive words of encouragement and my dads physical labor to help me get this started I probably would have dragged my feet from nerves. Within 2 weeks after painting and brainstorming, pricing I had done it.
